You may be fighting demons and strange old ladies in the woods in Baldur's Gate 3, but who says you can't do it in style? Creativity and uniqueness do not stop at the Character Creation screen. Maybe you saw a Tiefling at the grove who inspired you to wear red, or maybe you just desire a new pop of color.

Changing the appearance of your clothes is easy, you just have to have the coin and know where to look. Dying clothing does not add any benefits to the game itself. It is just a fun pastime, especially if you want your whole party to match.

Dye can be found by purchasing them from merchants. Arron in Druid Grove sells a couple of basic colors such as Orange, Green, and Purple. These dyes cost around six Gold each, so they're not expensive.

You may also find special dyes while journeying through Faerun. From off a corpse or in a treasure chest, you can find many dyes that cannot be purchased from any merchant. These dyes are unique because they are not just a color, but can make your clothes shine and glow.

These are rare dyes, such as Drake General Dye, which can be found in a chest at your campsite.

You can change the color of your armor and your camp clothing - even your boots, underwear, and plate armor. Any person in your party can have their clothing items dyed.

To dye a piece of clothing, you must interact with the bottle of dye in your inventory. A crafting menu will pop up. Open the inventory of whoever you want and click-and-drag their clothing item into the empty box on the right.

Select "Combine" and you will have a new clothing item available. The icon for the clothing will stay the same, so you may accidentally mix clothing up. You will also have to close the combination menu and open it again if you want to dye multiple pieces of equipment in a row.

You can not revert clothing back to its original color by removing dye.
